Horseback Riding

Take the Reins

The Beavers Bend area features more than a half-million acres of land available for horseback riding. The Ouachita National Forest and the Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area are full of forested trails just waiting for you to saddle up and ride.

The Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area requires a permit to enter, so pay close attention to signs near entrances off the highway. For information about obtaining a permit and for other rules and regulations at Three Rivers, visit the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation website.

The Beavers Bend Depot is perfect for beginners and children, with a 2.5-mile mile trail that allows riders to glimpse deer and various other wildlife.

Some cabins in the Beavers Bend area offer equestrian lodging, so make sure to inquire when booking your stay. Several area outfitters can get you set up with all the gear (and the horses) you’ll need for a day on the trail.
